Lord, thank you for the work you have done in MLA Matt Wiebe‘s life, both for governing and for his personal life. I pray you would continue to reveal your purposes and that Matt’s heart would stay soft and supple. Born and raised in northeast Winnipeg, Matt was first elected as MLA for Concordia in a by-election in 2010 and re-elected in 2011 and 2016. Matt has deep roots in the community, attending River East Collegiate and playing football with the East Side Eagles. He also worked as the Executive Assistant to former Premier Gary Doer and for former Member of Parliament Bill Blaikie. Matt has also volunteered with organizations, including the Elmwood/East Kildonan Residents Advisory Committee, Happy Days on Henderson/Take Pride Elmwood, the Beautify Elmwood Community Committee and the River East Neighbourhood Network. Matt also serves as the Chair of the NDP Caucus. He holds a B.A. in Economics and a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Manitoba. He and his wife Kaila and children Anna and Noah make their home in Valley Gardens.
