MLA Matt Wiebe, Concordia

Father, today we lift up MLA Matt Wiebe. I pray, Lord, that You would be his guidance and protector. I pray that it is Your voice he would hear and follow. Grant him wisdom that comes from You. We ask for a special blessing upon him and his family in Jesus name, Amen……

Born and raised in northeast Winnipeg, Matt was first elected as MLA for Concordia in a by-election in 2010 and re-elected in 2011 and 2016. Matt has deep roots in the community, attending River East Collegiate and playing football with the East Side Eagles. He also worked as the Executive Assistant to former Premier Gary Doer and for former Member of Parliament Bill Blaikie. Matt has also volunteered with organizations, including the Elmwood/East Kildonan Residents Advisory Committee, Happy Days on Henderson/Take Pride Elmwood, the Beautify Elmwood Community Committee and the River East Neighbourhood Network. Matt also serves as the Chair of the NDP Caucus. He holds a B.A. in Economics and a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Manitoba. He and his wife Kaila and children Anna and Noah make their home in Valley Gardens.
