MLA Matthew MacKay, Kensington-Malpeque

MLA Matthew MacKay

Our Father in Heaven, we give You thanks for our elected representatives in local government. We lift up MLA Matthew MacKay as he works to carry out his responsibilities to the people of Kensington-Malpeque. Bless him with Your wisdom, and give him a sense of Christian stewardship, as he serves on the Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability committee. May he seek first the kingdom of heaven as he serves on the Education and Economic Growth committee. We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ,  Amen.

Matthew MacKay was sworn in as Minister of Social Development and Housing on July 18, 2022. He was first elected in 2015 as the Progressive Conservative MLA for Kensington-Malpeque, and re-elected in the 2019 and 2023 general elections. He previously served as the opposition critic for Economic Development and Tourism, before being elected as a member of the ruling Progressive Conservative party in April 2019. Before entering politics, Minister MacKay worked as a real estate agent and developer.
