Father we thank You for MLA: Mike Bernier. We pray that You would give him clear direction and strategies in the season that is ahead of him. We pray that You will also open doors of opportunity for him to be able put his experience in the natural gas industry to good use in enacting legislation that strikes the balance between the preservation of our wonderful natural resources and the economic benefit of responsibly extracting the natural gas for the benefit of of the people of British Columbia. Mike Bernier was elected MLA for Peace River South on May 14, 2013.
Before being elected to the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia, Mike served as Mayor of Dawson Creek. He was first elected Mayor in 2008 and was re-elected in 2011, and also served as a Dawson Creek City Councillor from 2005 to 2008.
Mike is the Past President of the North Central Local Government Association. He has also served on the Peace River Regional District, the B.C. Mayors Climate Leadership Council, the Community Energy Association, the Council of Resource Community Mayors, Northeast Regional Advisory Committee, Site C Regional and Local Government Liaison Committee, Northern Development Initiative Trust, and the South Peace Economic Development Commission.
Mike has lived in Dawson Creek since 1993 and has 20 years of experience in the natural gas industry.
