MLA Mike Starchuk, Surrey-Cloverdale

We bring Mike Starchuk, MLA for Surrey-Cloverdale, before you.  Thank you for his lifetime of involvement in this area of the province, and for his willingness to use his professional skills to strengthen this province. With the many challenges facing the leaders of B.C. we ask that you will be his guide and director in the decisions that need to be made.  May he hear your heart and know there are people praying for him.  May he have the words of encouragement along with successful plans that will help those he is working on behalf of.  Keep him in health and strength and please grant him times of rejuvenation so he can continue doing the work that he is tasked with.  Thank you for him and his willingness to be a part of the leadership of our province.  I ask this in your name.  Amen.  

 

​Mike Starchuk was elected MLA for Surrey-Cloverdale in the 2020 provincial general election. He has called Surrey home for over fifty years and served his community as a city councillor and a firefighter before running for provincial office. In his firefighting career, Mike held the position of Chief Fire Prevention Officer with the Surrey Fire Service and worked with the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Association. He was made an honourary member of the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Association after his retirement. Mike is one of the founding directors of Surrey Fire Fighters Charitable Society and has been involved with the Variety Club of BC. In 2013, he was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for his work with and dedication to the City of Surrey. He was elected to Surrey City Council in 2014. Mike can often be seen out on his mountain bike on the streets of Surrey-Cloverdale.
