MLA Mitzi Dean, Esquimalt – Metchosin (Demo)

We pause to pray today for Mitzi Dean as a new MLA for Esquimalt-Metchosin. You have blessed her, Heavenly Father, with an extensive background locally and in the UK in social work, child protection services, at an orphanage, and a transition house for vulnerable women. Equip her, Lord, to use all this training and these experiences for helping others in need, in order to serve effectively within our provincial legislature during the current term of office for the NDP party.

May she be given the grace to serve with integrity not only the citizens of her local riding, but also contribute to supporting the needs of many people in this province with challenges and difficulties. For such a time as this, Lord, allow her to be utilized in capacities where she can bring her passions to bear to help many who are disenfranchised for various reasons.  Bless Mitzi and her family as they all adjust to the new rhythm and demands of her serving in political office. Bless her richly, and equip her to be a blessing to those she has been called to serve.

Mitzi Dean was elected as MLA for Esquimalt-Metchosin in 2017.  Before moving to the Victoria area in 2005, Mitzi Dean served as a national development manager for children’s services with the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, the U.K.’s largest child protection charity.

Mitzi grew up in southeast England and worked in child protection social work and community-based social services across Great Britain for more than 20 years. She also volunteered at a Romanian orphanage and a transition house in the U.K. providing refuge for women experiencing relationship violence.

Mitzi lives in Metchosin with her partner and seven-year-old daughter.
