Jesus we bring before you Rachel Notley the Leader of the Opposition in our legislature and we ask that you direct her to offer constructive criticism to help our government function more effectively. Lord we know that Ms Notley has a passion for our province and the people of Edmonton-Strathcona and we ask that she direct that passion in ways that will help to further prosper our province now and in the future. Lord may she strive to maintain unity and cooperation between all the parties in the legislature for the good of our province and may you bless her, her husband Lou and their two children. Rachel Notley was elected to represent Edmonton-Strathcona in 2008, 2012, 2015 and again in 2019. She was sworn in as the province’s 17th Premier on May 24, 2015, a position she held until the 2019 election. She grew up in Fairview, Alberta, and is the daughter of former Alberta ND leader Grant Notley. Rachel holds a bachelor of arts in political science from the University of Alberta, and a law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School. She has worked for a variety of labour unions in both Alberta and British Columbia and served as a ministerial advisor to British Columbia’s Attorney General in the 1990s. Rachel’s work during her legal career focused on labour law, workers’ compensation advocacy and workplace health and safety issues. Rachel lives in Edmonton with her husband Lou and their two children.
