Heavenly Father, today we pray for Rakhi Pancholi, MLA for Edmonton-Whitemud and Deputy Leader of the Official Opposition. Thank You for her legal experience in education, labour, and employment law and her years of community involvement. Rakhi grew up in southwest Edmonton and now raises her own family in the same part of the city. As the daughter of immigrants, she has spoken about often being the only Indo-Canadian child in her school or community and how those experiences eventually helped her understand the importance of different perspectives being represented. As Rakhi carries leadership responsibilities, give her wisdom, discernment, and patience. Help her communicate firmly while respecting those with whom she disagrees and recognize opportunities for constructive cooperation. Help her remain closely connected to Edmonton-Whitemud. Bless Rakhi, her husband, their children, and their home with health, strength, and peace. May her experiences as a lawyer, mother, community volunteer, and Albertan contribute to compassionate and principled public service. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Rakhi Pancholi was re-elected as the MLA for Edmonton-Whitemud in 2023 and currently chairs the Standing Committee on Public Accounts. Before entering politics, she practised law in Edmonton, focusing on labour, employment, and education law, and worked with the Alberta School Boards Association and Alberta Education. She has also been involved with numerous community and legal organizations. Rakhi holds a law degree from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Alberta. She lives in south Edmonton with her husband, Owen, their two children, and two rescue dogs.
