MLA Randy Weekes, Biggar-Sask Valley

Thank you father for the spiritual identity that you have established in the Honourable Randy Weekes, Speaker for the Saskatchewan Legislature. As he leads the Fall sitting of our legislature would you give him key insights into the right times to control activities and the rights times to give space for passionate debate. We also ask that you would prepare him to provide wise counsel to other Speakers, both in Canada and in other democracies. Thank you Father for establishing a love for community within Randy, may that passion lead to new insights and opportunities as he serves the region of Biggar – Sask Valley. Amen.

Randy was first elected in 1999 as the MLA for Redberry Lake and re-elected in 2003, 2007, 2011, 2016 and 2020 as the MLA for Biggar-Sask Valley. On November 30, 2020, he was elected by his fellow MLAs to serve as Speaker. While in opposition, Randy served as critic for Highways and Transportation, Environment, and Labour, and deputy critic for Immigration and Information Services Corporation. Randy was born in Biggar and grew up on the nearby family farm. He studied at the University of Saskatchewan and received a diploma in Agriculture, before returning to farm and ranch with his family. Randy and his wife Cindy make their home near Biggar.
