MLA Richard Gotfried, Calgary-Fish Creek

Thank you, Father,  for Richard’s role in politics as a private member. May his significant business experience give him valuable insights to his current work. May he be able to use his long time community leadership and passion for community building in his current role.  We ask you to create in him a teachable and discerning spirit with an ability to look at all sides presented. May he walk in integrity and along the paths of righteousness. May he fulfil the destiny You have for him. Bless him in his political career and bless his wife Cathy and their 3 children. Amen. 

Richard Gotfried was re-elected in 2019, to his second term at the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, representing the constituency of Calgary-Fish Creek. Mr. Gotfried currently serves as the chair of the Standing Committee on the Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund and the deputy chair of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts. He also serves as a member of the Standing Committee on Private Bills and Private Members’ Public Bills and the Special Standing Committee Members’ Services. Prior to his election to the Legislative Assembly, Mr. Gotfried spent over a decade working as a senior executive for a Calgary-based home builder. Earlier, he worked for over 15 years as a district sales manager for an international airline. In addition, he was vice-president of corporate and community engagement with Calgary Economic Development between 2011 and 2013. Mr. Gotfried holds a certificate in corporate and community involvement from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College and an executive management certificate from the University of Hong Kong.
