MLA Rod Loyola, Edmonton-Ellerslie

Father God, today we consider the life of Member Rod Loyola who serves and cares for the people of Edmonton-Ellerslie.  Thank you for the compassionate service which he gives to his constituents and the people of Alberta.  Bless his family with times of great fellowship and recreation.  May they see your loving-kindness which surrounds them.  Keep each one from harm.  Help Rod to see a clear path to walk in the days and months ahead as he considers next steps.  Thank you for your interest in the lives of our provincial leaders.  Bless them all, but particularly Rod this day.  Amen.

Rod Loyola was elected in 2015 and again on April 16, 2019. He currently serves as a member of the Standing Committee on Privileges and Elections, Standing Orders and Printing and the Standing Committee on Resource Stewardship. Prior to being elected, Loyola was heavily involved with the University of Alberta, first having completed a bachelor of arts in 1999, later becoming employed as an academic program coordinator and student adviser for University of Alberta International. He was then elected President of the Non-Academic Staff Association union. Loyola’s volunteer and community involvement includes serving in various roles for the Knottwood Community League, as well as on the Post-Secondary Education Task Force for Public Interest Alberta, and on the board of Friends of Medicare. Loyola currently resides in Mill Woods with his wife, Johanna, and two children.
