MPP Donna Skelly, Flamborough-Glanbrook

Lord, today we pray for Donna Skelly and we thank you for women who can lend their voice to better serve the community with improved services. We pray for a clear vision for the task ahead, and great endurance. Lord, bless her and her family each day and walk with them through any and all challenges. Amen.

Donna grew up in Northern Ontario before moving to Toronto to study broadcasting. Donna entered politics after a successful 30-year career in broadcast journalism. During that time Donna produced and hosted current affairs programming and journalism. She held leadership roles including advocacy before the CRTC and Parliamentary Committees, serving as President of the Local Union for the employee bargaining unit and the founding of a leading-edge digital news service. In March 2016, Donna was elected to Hamilton City Council, and as MPP she has been appointed as the Parliamentary Assistant (PA) to the Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade. Donna has volunteered her time on numerous boards and agencies both at the local and federal level. She has been recognized widely for her contribution to her community and was named Woman of the Year in Politics and Public Affairs by the YWCA. Donna lives in the riding of Flamborough-Glanbrook with her two sons Dane and Cole.
