Lord, we thank You for the people who are willing to serve others. Today we bring before You Donna Skelly and ask that You be ever present as she works with others to help Ontario and her own constituents. Lord I ask that You walk beside her and develop in her a patience that holds true in all circumstances. I pray the she “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” (Romans 12:12) In Jesus name, Amen……..
Donna grew up in Northern Ontario before moving to Toronto to study broadcasting. Donna entered politics after a successful 30-year career in broadcast journalism. During that time Donna produced and hosted current affairs programming and journalism. She held leadership roles including advocacy before the CRTC and Parliamentary Committees, serving as President of the Local Union for the employee bargaining unit and the founding of a leading-edge digital news service. In March 2016, Donna was elected to Hamilton City Council, and as MPP she has been appointed as the Parliamentary Assistant (PA) to the Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade. Donna has volunteered her time on numerous boards and agencies both at the local and federal level. She has been recognized widely for her contribution to her community and was named Woman of the Year in Politics and Public Affairs by the YWCA. Donna lives in the riding of Flamborough Glanbrook with her two sons Dane and Cole.
