Effie was elected as the Progressive Conservative MPP for Oakville North-Burlington in June 2018. She serves as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care and as a Member of the Ontario Legislature’s Standing Committee on Social Policy. Currently a lawyer in the GTA, she specializes in corporate, international trade and immigration law. Effie has served as director for the Canada – U.S. Business Association, Ontario Exports Inc., Forum for International Training, and the Empire Club of Canada. She is a past Chief Executive Officer and Director of Save the Children Canada. Effie holds a Bachelor of Law and a Master of Laws in International Trade and Competition Law.
