MPP Gila Martow, Thornhill

Heavenly Father, we thank You for MPP Gila Martow. Today we pray over her life the peace and joy of God. In her role as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Francophone Affairs and serving the people of Thornhill, we ask that all of her life would be one marked with abiding, inexpressible joy that would spread into the lives of those around her. Please bring a positive transformation in the life of each and every person influenced by Gila and her team. These things we pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Gila Martow was first elected into the Legislative Assembly of Ontario in February 2014. Since the 2014 Provincial General Election in June, Gila is now embarking on her second consecutive term as the elected Member of Provincial Parliament for the Thornhill riding. Prior to taking office, Gila graduated from the University of Waterloo with a degree in optometry and moved to Thornhill in 1989. She has been a practicing optometrist for over 25 years and co-ran an eye clinic affiliated with Markham Stouffville Hospital with her husband, Jeff. Gila is a mother of 4 and an active member of her community serving as the past Chair of the Parents Association of TanenbaumCHAT York Region Campus and also advocating for local not-for-profit organizations such as York Region’s CNIB and Hadassah. Shortly after being elected to office in February 2014, Gila introduced Bill 181 with the purpose of improving traffic flow and reducing gridlock, an issue that affects a vast population in the York Region.
