We give thanks to the Lord for the contribution MPP Jeremy Roberts is making in providing leadership for Children, Community and Social Services, as well as his responsibilities in Standing Committees. We pray for his work in these challenging times, and ask for continuing support so that the ministry work can proceed with great vitality and effectiveness this fall. We pray for his team as they serve the constituents of Ottawa-West Nepean. Amen.
Born and raised in Ottawa, Jeremy grew up on the streets of Nepean. He got involved in politics at the young age of 14 in order to help his younger brother, Dillon, who has autism. Jeremy served for six years as an advisor to Finance Ministers Jim Flaherty and Joe Oliver, helping to implement the federal government’s low-tax, balanced budget agenda. More recently, he served as Policy Advisor on Autism to the Minister of Health, Rona Ambrose, and helped put together a Working Group that is currently developing a national autism strategy. Beyond politics, Jeremy has also been an active community member, volunteering for over 15 years with CHEO and Children-at-Risk, sitting on Board of Directors of l’Arche Ottawa and Youth Ottawa, and running a Max Keeping-led initiative known as the CTV Youth Advisor Board. He has a degree in Political Science from Carleton University and a Master of Public Policy from the University of Oxford.
