Lord, we bring John Vanthof before You as he serves the people of Timiskaming—Cochrane, especially in his role as Opposition House Leader. You see the unique challenges facing northern and rural communities—the farms, mines, highways, and the distance from services that others may take for granted. Give John wisdom to represent these needs well and a steady hand as he carries the pressures of House leadership. Grant him endurance when the work is slow and courage when the challenges are difficult. Surround him with wise counsel and people who will encourage and support him. Lord, watch over John and his family. May he find rest and rejuvenation even when there seems to be no end to the work or the challenges ahead. May he be a strong advocate for the people and communities he serves, including farmers, families, and rural communities across this province, while caring well for Your creation.
