MPP Sol Mamakwa, Kiiwetinoong

Father, God. Our Father, we thank You for the life of MPP Sol Mamakwa. We are so grateful for this man who is one of only 3 MPP’s of indigenous heritage and only the second person of full first nations descent elected to assembly. Thank You for positioning him to break through barriers and bring great and significant change in this land. Protect him from misunderstanding and attacks of any kind. Keep him in Your perfect peace. Give him wisdom and grace to do everything You have created him to do. Thank You, Father, that he is Your tool to bring reconciliation, change and unity to our land. Amen……

Sol Mamakwa was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario in the 2018 provincial election. He is a Kingfisher Lake band member and a resident of Sioux Lookout who speaks and understands Oji-Cree. Sol is Co-chair of the Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre and has also been actively involved with the Sioux Lookout First Nation Health Authority, Sioux Lookout Physicians Regional Services, and the Northern Ontario School of Medicine. As the lead health advisor for the Nishnawbe-Aski Nation, Sol has worked alongside federal and provincial representatives to transform the way health care is delivered to the NAN territory by improving service delivery throughout the riding.
