Our gracious and loving, Heavenly Father, we thank You today for the years that Robert Mitchell has served the province of Prince Edward Island. We thank You for his willingness to once again serve Islanders. We know that public service is not easy and is very demanding, so we ask for health, physical stamina and emotional strength to go through the election process. We know that Robert inherited a strong work ethic from his Dad that has served him well over the years. May he be blessed with a sense of fulfillment that what he does on a daily basis is making a difference for the good of his community and Province. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Born and raised in Fort Augustus, Robert Mitchell has a background in public service and community involvement. He served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly from 2007 to 2020 and held cabinet roles including Minister of Health and Minister of Communities, Land and Environment. In these positions, he worked on files related to healthcare, environmental policy, and government services. Robert remains active in his community through volunteer work with the Parkdale Sherwood Lions Club and other organizations. He lives in Sherwood with his wife Bonnie and is a parent and grandparent. Robert was elected Leader of the Prince Edward Island Liberal Party on October 4 2025.
