Senator Jane MacAdam

Hon. Jane MacAdam

Dear Heavenly Father, we pray for Senator Jane MacAdam, who is one of the representatives of PEI in the Canadian Senate. She is one of several people of authority who have been called to lead our country in the Senate, which is the institution that gives “sober second thought” to legislation before it becomes law. You have given her years of experience as a Chartered Professional Accountant and she has been recognized by that governing body as one who has displayed exceptional leadership. We see that she is well suited for this position of oversight, having been an Auditor General for seven years in PEI, giving oversight to a number of areas including social services, health care, economic development, as well as housing programs. Therefore, Father, we ask that You guide her with the following: We pray that Jane would serve her position with complete integrity. That Jane would be continually committed to our nation and province in every way as she oversees the important task of scrutinizing bills that could affect the basic fabric of our island and nation. That Jane would be diligent and that You would give her wisdom, insight, discernment, and balance daily to do the job that she has been given. That Jane would have patience when dealing with all those she serves, supervises, and comes into contact with. That Jane would draw closer to You every day and that her entire family would be safe, secure, and healthy. In the precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

The Honourable Jane MacAdam, FCPA, CA, was appointed to the Senate of Canada in May 2023.
She previously served as Auditor General of Prince Edward Island from 2013 to 2020, where she led independent audits to strengthen accountability and best practices in government operations. A chartered professional accountant, she has over 40 years of experience in legislative auditing with the PEI Office of the Auditor General. She has been active in professional organizations, including the Canadian Council of Legislative Auditors and the Canadian Audit and Accountability Foundation. Her contributions to the profession were recognized with a Fellow designation from CPA Prince Edward Island. Beyond her professional work, Senator MacAdam has volunteered in her community through minor league sports, home and school associations, local co-operatives, and her church. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from UPEI and, with her husband, is a longtime resident of Morell, with three adult children and six grandchildren.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
