Sovereign Lord, we stand in the gap for Senator Percy Downe and commit him unto Your mighty hands today. We thank You for his decades of devoted service to the residents of our Island and our country at large. Holy Spirit, may he be filled with divine wisdom and discernment, that he might do only what is good and perfect in Your sight, bringing integrity, honour and compassion to his work, and unity and peace to our nation. Lord, above all, may he have a special encounter with You, bringing peace and clarity in all his decisions, big and small. Bless his family and hide them in the hollow of Your hands. Bring protection, safety, happiness, joy and Your intimate care to every member of his household. May they have uncommon breakthroughs and divine favour this season. We pray these things in the name of Jesus. Amen!
Senator Downe was appointed to the Senate of Canada on June 26, 2003 and lives in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. He is the first graduate of the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) to serve in the Parliament of Canada.
