Father of all good gifts, today we lift up Senator Downe to You. As he goes about his work today and in the days ahead, guide him in his leadership. May his work in committee and in discussion be fruitful. We recognize that senators are chosen for their strong contributions to our country over the years, and we thank You for his many years of leadership within government long before his current role. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
Senator Downe was appointed to the Senate of Canada on June 26, 2003 and lives in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. He is the first graduate of the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) to serve in the Parliament of Canada.
