Steve Ashton MLA – Thompson

God be with Steve as he works with such a variety of initiatives, that
he will have an effect with the health care industry as well as proper policing
for native communities. Give him favor in people’s eyes, and yours. In Jesus
name.

Minister of Infrastructure and Transportation
Minister responsible for Emergency Measures

Steve was first elected to the Manitoba Legislature in 1981. He has been re-elected eight consecutive times. Before Premier Greg Selinger appointed Steve as the Minister of Infrastructure and Transportation, he served as the Minister of Conservation, the Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister responsible for Emergency Measures, and in November 2003 he was named Minister of Water Stewardship, a department solely committed to water issues and the first such department to be created in Canada.
Steve is also the minister responsible for Emergency Measures, and has worked hard to protect homes and communities from last year’s historic flooding.
